So what's this Pyra in Bryle all about?

Date: October 14, 2025

It's late Tuesday afternoon. I'm looking out the window at my beloved Podolany, sipping coffee, and thinking: it's high time I said hello and told you what this is all about.

Hello, Faith! It's nice to see you in my humble online space.

Since this is our first time, I think we should introduce ourselves. Some of you are probably scratching your heads and wondering, "Okay, cool clothes, but what's with the name – Pyra w Brylach?" I'll explain now, because the name truly captures the heart of this place.

First of all: PYRA.

How else? I'm from Poznań, I was born here, I live here, I pay taxes here, and here I complain about the city center being torn apart. For me, a potato is more than just a potato (though I love those too, especially with gzik). It's a symbol of being from here. It's synonymous with something solid, honest, and unpretentious. A good, versatile pizza doesn't pretend to be caviar. And that's exactly what this shop is supposed to be. It's for you – normal, cool people who value authenticity.

Secondly: IN LUMS.

And "in Brilliant," because Brilliant (i.e., glasses, that one!) represents looking at the world with attention. It's a symbol of looking at labels, checking ingredients, and appreciating good craftsmanship. It's a sign that we're not buying just anything. We want to know what we're wearing, how it was made, and whether it will last beyond the first wash.

We also look critically at the fast-paced world of fashion. We don't want to be a part of it. We want to slow down, choose wisely, and enjoy good quality.

Pyra in Bryle combines a local heart with a keen eye. It's a love for Poznań and a respect for conscious choices.

Okay, but what does that mean in practice?

This store wasn't created to overwhelm you with a ton of clothes for one season. Quite the opposite. I want to offer you pieces that will stay with you for a long time. Pieces that have that special something.

That's why I don't lie in my product descriptions. If a sweatshirt is a small size, I shout about it all over the page. If a hat is made of acrylic, which sheds microfibers in the washing machine, I'm upfront about it and offer tips on how to care for it to minimize damage. Because honesty is key for me. You should know what you're buying.

What's next on this blog?

And a whole lot of good stuff! I'll be sharing not only new items from the shop, but also bits and pieces of my Poznań world. You can expect:

  • Guides to my favorite spots in Poznań
  • Tips on how to care for your clothes so they last for years.
  • Styling ideas so you don't look like a chain store clone.
  • Stories about the behind-the-scenes of running such a small business.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by and reading my ramblings. Make yourself comfortable, wander around the shop, and if you have a moment, let me know what you think in the comments! I'm curious to see who's on the other side.

Hugs, Your Pyra in Bryle
