At the Wierzbicki family home, preparations for the grand autumn feast, which they called the "Pinecone and Pumpkin Festival," had been underway since dawn. Decorations were already on the table (exactly like those around the T-shirt): pine cones on a turquoise plate, rowan twigs, small white pumpkins, and a carefully wrapped gift.

However, the kitchen was in chaos.

“The pumpkin pie has sunk!” Mom exclaimed, pulling a flat, pancake-like cake out of the oven. “And the goose,” Dad muttered, peering inside, “is still colder than a morning on Babia Góra.”

Everything was going wrong. The atmosphere changed from joyful to tense.

Just then, eight-year-old Tymek walked into the kitchen. In one hand, he held his favorite, clean white T-shirt. In the other, he carried the last St. Martin's croissant, which he had miraculously saved from his morning breakfast.

Seeing his parents' sad faces, he placed the croissant in the middle of the large, empty table. Then he ran to get his markers.

“Mom, Dad, come on!” he called after a while.

When they returned to the dining room, they saw that Tymek was wearing a white T-shirt. Above the croissant on the table, he had placed a note with the word "HAPPY" written on it, and below it another with the word "DAY."

The parents looked at each other, then at the croissant, and burst out laughing. So loud and hearty that the lit candle flickered.

They forgot about the cold goose and the fallen cake. Dad brought jam, Mom made raspberry tea. They sat down and shared that single croissant.

It turned out to be the best meal they had eaten in months.

The next day, as a souvenir, Mom transferred Tymek's design onto a T-shirt. Since then, their "Pine Cone and Pumpkin Festival" has always been called "Happy Croissant Day." It's their private celebration, a reminder that a perfect feast doesn't need perfect food, but perfectly happy people who can laugh—even if it's just one croissant for dinner.

ATTENTION, TEJ! Sizing! Our sizes are our European sizes. If someone is ordering from America, they need to order one size larger, because they have a different measurement there and it will be too small.
